Richard Smith
Richard Smith Is co-owner of successful Johannesburg based audio rental company Sound Harmonics. He founded the company with his business partner after completing a diploma in Light Music at Tshwane University of Technology in 1995.

In a wide ranging career, Richard has been prolific in the field of Theatre Sound Design as well as Corporate Events. He is also an established recording engineer, project manager and installation designer. He has toured extensively in South Africa with acts such as Seal SA Tour, Randy Crawford & Joe Sample and Jonathan Butler, as well as Internationally on events like Nokia World Conference, CAF Awards, Coke Sales Conference and Standard Bank Vision & Values Africa Road-Show.

He is highly respected and active in the Professional Audio Industry and a typical day can see him doing anything from commissioning an installation to engineering an awards show.



Michaela Newey
Michaela Newey Did her first sound gig in high school back in the mid 80's and hasn't looked back since. After obtaining her diploma in Theatre Technology from Wits Technichon , she took her first full time job as a sound technician at the State Theatre Pretoria in the late 80's.

She has worked for companies such as Sun International, The Johannesburg Civic Theatre (where she was Head of Sound), Brodan Systems, 8th Avenue Sound, Prosound, Sound Stylists and Gearhouse.

Her Theatre credits include such shows as A Chorus Line, Hair and The Buddy Holly Story. She has had a varied career in the live audio industry encompassing theatre, import and sales, system design, manufacturing, as well as operations and management in live audio rental. She is currently a freelancer and consultant to the industry.
